Participation with care
The school pilot uses age-appropriate introductions, with the ability to pause, skip or stop. Suitability and accessibility are agreed before participation; the Baseline is not claimed to be validated for every age.
Our approach
A child may be quiet at school, inventive at home and confident in a small group. Each perspective is real. None is the whole child.
Our work begins with the conditions around a response, then asks what could help.
Observation is a beginning
A response is something we notice. Context helps us consider why it happened. An interpretation remains a question until the evidence supports it.
01 / A change in perspective
Choose a perspective. See how a different observation changes the next question. The child does not need a new label.
One child.
More than one perspective.
1 of 5 perspectives explored.
Not a confidence score.
School / Fictional observation
“They rarely put their hand up.”
Teacher observation · whole-class discussion
Very little about understanding on its own. Ask how the child prefers to explain an idea before drawing a conclusion.
Still unknown. We cannot infer low ability, low interest or low confidence from silence.
Fictional example. These five perspectives explain our principle; they are not five data feeds collected by the school pilot. Each service uses relevant, agreed evidence. No assessment, diagnosis or predicted improvement is produced here.
Understanding becomes useful through action
Notice what happened, without turning one response into a label.
Look for context and supporting evidence. Keep alternative explanations open.
Choose a practical change that the child’s adults can try.
Notice the response, ask what helped and revise the next step.
School, Home, Peers, Activities and Self are contextual lenses. They are not a requirement to collect every kind of information in every service. Scope, purpose, suitability and permissions determine the evidence used.
Responsible intelligence
Technology should help adults ask better questions and make more considered decisions. It does not know a child better than the people who care for them.
Read our privacy informationThe school pilot uses age-appropriate introductions, with the ability to pause, skip or stop. Suitability and accessibility are agreed before participation; the Baseline is not claimed to be validated for every age.
Profiles distinguish observations, possible contextual patterns and the strength of the evidence. They do not diagnose, recognise emotions or assign fixed learning styles.
The pilot design does not retain raw audio by default. Relevant transcripts, evidence markers, interpretations and outputs may be retained during the agreed pilot period, with purpose-limited, role-based access.
Sensitive material does not belong in ordinary teacher profiles. Concerns require a separate human-led escalation pathway. Children are not promised absolute confidentiality; adults remain accountable for decisions.
School permissions and agreed channels govern sharing with families. A parent contact list is not required to begin the school pathway.
